El Capitan, Macs with NVIDIA graphics and a possible fix

SimGuruModSquad over on the official forums has posted links to NVIDIA’s website where you can download updated graphics drivers. He’s encouraging people to give it a try and report any feedback on the Sims 4 Mac Bug thread. This is specifically aimed at those running El Capitan who can no longer play Sims 4 due to their NVIDIA graphics cards not being compatible with the game.

I’ve written a guide on how to manually update the drivers because of course we’re not meant to do it and it’s never normally recommended, all updates come from Apple. You can find the guide here – https://bluebellflora.com/manually-update-nvidia-geforce-graphics-drivers-in-os-x/.

I tested it in OS X 10.11.3 and everything went well. I have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 1024Mb which wasn’t one of the ones affected so I can’t say if this fixes the issue or not. If you are on one of the affected Macs PLEASE post your results if you try this manual update. It may just be the miracle fix that everyone has been waiting for.
