Umm. 2ghz is not high enough for the game. Try putting it on turbo boost to get higher ghz then try to play it

I have had The Sims 4 sense the release date, but I have never gotten the Settings just Right.

I did that back in February, because of a editing software I wanted. but when I upgraded my Mac it pretty much Broke my Computer ): the only thing that kind of worked was The sims 4. I backed up my computer before Upgrading, so I was able to go back to 10.8.5. Thank you for the reply tho(:

Yes but make sure you don’t set the graphics options too high. If you look under the graphics drop down menu on any page on this site you’ll see a link to an Intel HD 4000 thread on the official games forum where people have posted who have the same. There ar some issues with it but the game is playable.

The one you’ve quoted meets the minimum requirements. But MacBook Airs are not gaming computers by any stretch of the imagination.

On low settings, yes it might. You may want to add more RAM though. 5Gb is an odd amount – RAM should be installed in equal pairs.

Quick question whats the best settings I can run this game on with a Late 2012 imac. It’s specs are 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB.

If you’re running El Capitan or Sierra you’re going to have to download and install the NVIDIA driver as the game doesn’t run properly on those Macs. EA are fully aware but never bothered patching it.

You need to download and install the NVIDIA driver if you want to play, EA haven’t bothered updating the game to support the GPUs. Be careful as it’s not normal practice and can cause kernel panics as the current drivers aren’t 100% stable.

It will play but not very smoothly with all that content. You will have to have graphics settings at rock bottom. If you already have it why not just install it and see?

I have all Sims 4 games to date (with 5Gb CC), 99% of Sims 3 plus a few other games installed on my 500Gb drive and I have 250Gb left. I also have a 60Gb Photos Library and a large Documents library too.

I don’t want to bother you but I have been playing he sims 4 smoothly up until 2 patches ago when it pretty much broke my game.
My specs are a far stretch from what’s best but I’ve been using it without problems so far.
I have a macbook pro (13-inch, mid 2008,, i know)
2.26 GHz Intel core 2 duo
2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Nividia geForce 9400M 256 MB
I have 87 GB of space (so I know that’s not a problem)
Id just like to know if there’s anything I can do to fix the lag and unplayable game or is it just game over for me?

I’m amazed that you’ve been managing to play at all – well done! The patches have probably just sent it over the edge. Your processor, RAM and graphics are well under the minimum requirements for the game. Have you set all in-game options to their lowest possible and disabled Origin in game?

I haven’t tried used disabling origin but I’m not sure that’ll help much. I’m almost certain it’s just game over because of the new patches like you said. Thank you so much though!

Probably yes but on low settings and it will most likely struggle with all the packs installed. The game doesn’t like the Intel 4000 very much, the subsequent release of your Intel 3000 😦 Upgrade to at least Sierra too.

I have 437.14 GB available on my SATA Disk and 581.09 GB on an external drive available. However, I do have a 60 GB Photos Library.
Do you think that the Sims could run effectively on this? I know there were issues with the HD 4000. Thanks so much!!

Your Mac will switch to the NVIDIA when you launch the game. You should be able to play on medium settings. You may need to update the driver manually for best results, have a look here for more info.

There was an issue with certain NVIDIA cards but they may have fixed it now, I haven’t seen any reports for a while.

Your laptop is probably not going to be able to handle it. I love the SIms 4 but I had to stop playing it because my Mackbook Air Early 2019 could not handle it. The computer specs for Macbooks are not built for gaming.
