I backed up my computer before Upgrading, so I was able to go back to 10.8.5. Thank you for the reply tho(:

    1. Yes but make sure you don’t set the graphics options too high. If you look under the graphics drop down menu on any page on this site you’ll see a link to an Intel HD 4000 thread on the official games forum where people have posted who have the same. There ar some issues with it but the game is playable.

    Intel HD Graphics 6000

If I upgrade to 2.2GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz, will those specs work?

    will my laptop work?
I don’t mind if the graphics are mediocre as long as it doesn’t freeze and crash like sims 3.

  8. Hi BluebellFlora!

I read through this thread (http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/856370/os-x-10-11-el-capitan-official-release-thread) I currently have The Sims 3 Installed but I’m considering The Sims 4, however, it seems to be unplayable or playable with crashes. To you knowledge has anything changed for users that were listed on the affected list?

Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

  10. Hi BluebellFlora!

I’ve ran out of space on my MacBook so I’m considering upgrading to the the 15” MacBook Pro (Early 2017) and I was wondering if you would recommend going with 500GB or 1TB storage? I don’t store much on my laptop, the thing that takes up the most is TS4, mods and CC.

    Thanks so much!

    1. I have all Sims 4 games to date (with 5Gb CC), 99% of Sims 3 plus a few other games installed on my 500Gb drive and I have 250Gb left. I also have a 60Gb Photos Library and a large Documents library too.

  11. HI!
I don’t want to bother you but I have been playing he sims 4 smoothly up until 2 patches ago when it pretty much broke my game.

My specs are a far stretch from what’s best but I’ve been using it without problems so far.
    I have a macbook pro (13-inch, mid 2008,, i know)
2.26 GHz Intel core 2 duo
    2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    Nividia geForce 9400M 256 MB
I have 87 GB of space (so I know that’s not a problem)
Id just like to know if there’s anything I can do to fix the lag and unplayable game or is it just game over for me?

    1. I’m amazed that you’ve been managing to play at all – well done! The patches have probably just sent it over the edge. Your processor, RAM and graphics are well under the minimum requirements for the game. Have you set all in-game options to their lowest possible and disabled Origin in game?

      Like

      1. I haven’t tried used disabling origin but I’m not sure that’ll help much. I’m almost certain it’s just game over because of the new patches like you said. Thank you so much though!

  13. Hey 😉
my doughter wants to play The Sims 4 and I wondered if my old Mac Book Pro (13″, Early 2011) will run the game.

    OS – Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
    CPU – 2,3 GHz Intel Core i5
    RAM – 16GB RAM 1333 MHz DDR3
    Hard Drive – SSD
Video – Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

I think the Intel HD Graphics could be a bottleneck, what’s your opinion?
    Many thanks in advance!

    1. Probably yes but on low settings and it will most likely struggle with all the packs installed. The game doesn’t like the Intel 4000 very much, the subsequent release of your Intel 3000 😦 Upgrade to at least Sierra too.

  14. Hey BluebellFlora!
I realllly want to download Sims 4 and I’ve been trying to research if it would work on my old 15″ Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) (no retina display) for me to even justify spending the money on it.

    macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.2
    Processor – 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory – 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics – Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

I have 437.14 GB available on my SATA Disk and 581.09 GB on an external drive available. However, I do have a 60 GB Photos Library.

Do you think that the Sims could run effectively on this? I know there were issues with the HD 4000. Thanks so much!!

    1. Your laptop is probably not going to be able to handle it. I love the SIms 4 but I had to stop playing it because my Mackbook Air Early 2019 could not handle it. The computer specs for Macbooks are not built for gaming.

I’m just thinking about buying an iMac and I don’t know if I’ll be able to play the Sims 4 correctly (I think so).

    3.0GHz 6-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz
    8GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory

Would be better to buy an Intel Core i7 processor?

How are you? I hope you’re doing well! I hope this gets to you!

Will the below specs run the base game sims 4?
Will the below specs run the base game sims 4 + seasons + city living + cats & dogs + parenthood + get together + laundry day + romantic garden and CC (I don’t have a specific amount at this time but would like to include CC).

If possible, I’d like to include university.

    OS Mojave 10.14.6
    iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)
    3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB

If OS Mojave is incompatible, can I go backwards and install Sierra or High Sierra?

Thank you for your help and knowledge!
