This seems to be an emerging issue for Mac users since the June patch – the Sims 4 will not close properly when exiting out of the game. The game will appear to close but will still be running in the background. Using Force Quit does nothing and using Activity Monitor to quit processes doesn’t work either.
If you are suffering from this issue PLEASE post in this thread. The more info obtained the more likely we can come up with a fix.

I’m not sure if this is a Mac specific issue so I’m just throwing it out there.
If you are trying to download University Life for the Sims 3 but can’t because Origin is telling you it hasn’t yet been released, please post in this thread over at EA’s Answers HQ. It seems to be an issue with the latest update – 9.10.2.4863 – 398079.
It doesn’t seem to be operating system related. but the more info EA get the better so they can (hopefully) fix it.
